FEATHERSTONE FAIL

Against Kingston Rovers at Craven Park

At Craven Park, Featherstone gave a lifeless exhibition for the main part of the game, and Hull Kingston had matters practically all their own way. Forward and back they showed capital tactics in the opening half, and the clear sixteen points lead they held at the interval did not overstate their superiority. In comparison, Featherstone’s tactics were ill-directed, and the only ones to play up to their usual form were Sid Denton and Clements. The first-named staved off many further potential tries for Kingston

In the later stages of the second half, Featherstone evidenced a degree of improvement, but though Hirst registered a couple of magnificent tries, the visitors never really looked likely to approach Hull’s score.

In loose work, Featherstone were never Kingston's equals, and Williams and Wood, at half back, were below the standard set up by Webb and Hoult.
