FEATHERSTONE WIN AT WYKE
Not more than 1.000 spectators were present on the Wyke ground, where Featherstone Rovers provided the opposition. In the first half play was much more even than expected, for though Hirst and Jim Denton completed nice passing movements in scoring for Featherstone, real hard work was rewarded for Wyke with a try to Holden. As none of these tries were converted, at half time the visitors were leading points by six points to three.
Forcible attacks by the Wyke forwards in the first ten minutes of the second half were beaten off, and from then to the end of the game the Featherstone backs dominated play. Annable added two tries, and Hirst another, and two goals were kicked Jim Denton, Featherstone ultimately winning by 19 points to 3.
