Featherstone Rovers' quest for a third successive Grand final ended in bitter disappointment as a well-drilled Batley side sprung a surprise, but deserved, 32-28 win to move onto the final against Leigh. A sluggish first half display saw Rovers 20-6 down, out-enthused on attack and defence. Batley's points came from tries by Jonny Campbell, Luke Hooley and James Meadows, plus two conversions and a penalty by Tom Gilmore. Rovers' only score came from Craig Hall. At the start of the second half, Josh Hardcastle gave Rovers hope as he scored a brace for Featherstone, with Craig Hall adding the extras These scores came either side of Lucas Walshaw's effort for Batley, and cut the gap to eight punts at 26-18. Batley then landed the crucial score and went 32-18 ahead with 22 minutes left when Dane Manning crossed. The game looked beyond a flat Rovers outfit and although they battled back with tries from Connor Jones and Luke Briscoe, they could not save themselves from defeat.
