Rovers sealed their ninth consecutive win of the league campaign to retain their 100% record with a victory at Wimbledon over London Broncos. Both Elijah Taylor and Jack Bussey were late withdrawals, compounding an already extensive list of missing players. Caleb Aekins got the ball rolling for Rovers, his first try in a stand out performance, a deft pass from Leilua making the try. In less than ten minutes, Aekins had doubles his tally, this time sprinting the length of the field following a break from Josh Hardcastle. As half time approached, Brad Day made it three unanswered scores before Connor Jones scored the first in what would be a 16 minute hat-trick just on the cusp of half time. Jones scored his second and third early in the second half to give Featherstone a convincing lead. Broncos could have been forgiven for giving up, however they showed great fortitude and resolve both in attack and defence. Illies Macani found space on the flank and the speedster ran in the hosts’ first try of the afternoon. Rovers responded, Brad Day securing his second of the afternoon. It was the hosts that had the final word as Bassett found his way through the Rovers defence to take his team’s points tally to ten, which included the conversion from Leyland.
