FEATHERSTONE’S PROOF

Before about 4,000 spectators, Featherstone demonstrated afresh that their promotion has been well earned. True, there was a period in Saturday’s game with Keighley when Featherstone's form was very disappointing.  Their forwards were beaten in the scrummages, and their backs, when they did get the ball, could do little that was right. But once the Rovers got into their stride all the Keighley efforts at defence were made to look very poor stuff.

In the end Keighley were almost run off their feet by the smart, fast tactics of the Featherstone backs, the pick of whom were Kirkham, who played a great game, Williams, Hirst, and J. Denton. Clements gave a great exhibition of a loose forward. Higson, the old Huddersfield player, turned out for Featherstone.
