FEATHERSTONE'S DECISIVE VICTORY

Bradford Northern did not prove a great attraction at Featherstone, the receipts being just under £100 the attendance about 2,000.  Featherstone had a much stronger side than for weeks past. Kinsey scored after a period which suggested that Featherstone would have no easy task. Having warmed to their work, however, they soon put the issue beyond doubt. Kirkham got over after very cleverly outwitting the defence, and made all the running for Kinsey's second try—the reward of a very pretty movement, Wynard (2) and Denton converted the tries.  After Featherstone's second score Hardaker, who made his first appearance for Bradford this season, kicked a penalty, and with a little more finish and resource Bradford, who played really good football in this half, might have had at least two tries.

Crossing over with a 13 points lead the Rovers gave a very attractive exhibition of open football in the second half, and two tries were scored by Mason. The try of the day, however, was scored by  Hirst, a magnificent effort which stamped Hirst as a great centre. Wynard not only kicked a penalty early in this half, but took his total goals into six converting all three tries. Bradford's only score in this half was a penalty goal, kicked by Price.
