FEATHERSTONE HUMBLED

 Featherstone Rovers were humbled by Broughton Rangers, though it should be noted that they had to find substitutes for Hirst, Mason, Tait, Williams, and Clements.  From the beginning the Rovers had no chance. They began by beating Broughton for possession, but this, the only advantage they possessed, passed to Broughton before half-time.

In the second half Featherstone were very soundly beaten. The experiments in the Featherstone back division were not a success. Sidney Denton played at full back for the first time this season, and did many good things, but the only player on the Rovers' side who emerged without loss of credit was James Denton. Broughton were to be congratulated on taking full advantage of the Rovers all round weakness, which was to be expected in view of the number of new men brought into the team not understanding each other's play.
