Help Featherstone Beat Wakefield Trinity

Featherstone Rovers were full value for ten pointy victory against Wakefield Trinity yesterday at Featherstone. Four thousand saw a fast and enjoyable game. Playing behind beaten forwards; Jonathan Parkin worked hard to try and avoid defeat, but the Rovers’ third line were much too smart for the Trinity four, and if Featherstone had won by an even a larger margin they would not have been flattered.

After several fine passing movements Featherstone took the lead, Higson scoring after a clever passing bout, and Wynard converting. Early in the second half Clements, of Featherstone, was sent off the field, but with only five forwards the Rovers continued to play the better football, and but for Parkin's heroic efforts Wakefield would have cut a sorry figure.  Wynard scored towards the close, and added goal points. A feature the game was the clever play of the Rovers "A” team men—Burton at full back and Rudd at stand-off half.  Jim Denton was the best winger on view, and Siswick got through much work for Wakefield.
