MEDALS
Medals have been awarded at the major rugby league finals and championships from the very outset. One exception was the Yorkshire Cup Final in 1940 where the Rovers players received a canteen of cutlery (which is in the display below) rather than medals.
Displayed below are a selection of medals from the finals and championships involving Rovers. Up to the 1970s the medals were engraved with the name of the player but from then it was simply the year and winners or runners up. We are missing quite a few so if anyone can let us have scans of medals from the missing finals then please get in touch. To see the reverse of the medal simply click on the image.
