Eastmoor amateur club product Andy Fisher signed for Rovers as a teenager. Tall, pacy and hard to tackle, as a youngster he made an ideal back-rower. In a pack that include Gary Rose, Chris Burton and Brendon Tuuta he learned how to take care of himself and quickly became a valued squad member under Peter Fox. Within a couple of months of his debut he played in the 1989 Yorkshire Cup final. When Rovers were relegated in 1992, Fisher stayed with the club under new coach Steve Martin, but was allowed to leave, joining Castleford. From there he went to Hull, winning promotion to Super League, and then to Wakefield, where he also won promotion to Super League in the 1998 Grand final v Rovers. He finished his career at Dewsbury and took on the role of head coach at Crown Flatt.
