A team second-rower Bernard Bradley made his first team debut as Featherstone struggled for form at the start of the 1929/30 season. A “gallant” debut saw him retain his place and enjoy a run of 20 games in the Rovers back-row. A poor performance against Huddersfield in March saw him summarily dropped and he was called on just once more, filling in for Joe Morgan when he was absent on a family bereavement.

He was tragically killed in a roof collapse at Ackton Hall Colliery in 1948 aged 41.
