Pontefract-born Dale Ferguson was a Rovers fan as a youngster, but signed for Wakefield as a teenager and made his mark in Super League at Belle Vue, and also at Huddersfield. He took a step down to the Championship with Bradford in 2014, but went back to Huddersfield for three more top-flight seasons. Injuries took their toll, and towards the end of his career he came briefly to Rovers, playing four games before injury hit again. He signed a contract for 2020 but didn't play in that truncated season due to injury. After a couple of substitute appearances at the start of 2021, where he showed his obvious size and strength, he continued to struggle with a hamstring injury. A loan spell at Dewsbury led to an immediate recall, and he appeared in the Grand final against Toulouse, which was his final game before rejoining Dewsbury.
Qualifying for Scotland through his parents he won 13 international caps and played at the 2013 World Cup.
