Originally from Airedale, Dave Edgington signed for Rovers in September 1977 but almost immediately sufferred a broken leg in a motor cycle accident.  When he started playing again he spent most of this with the A team and didn't get a first team appearance until April 1980.   At the end of the 1980/81 season he went back to the Lock Lane club where his career started.  He later played at Bramley and Mansfield Marksman.
