Geoff Clarkson was a rugged second-rower, a tireless tackler whose popular claim to fame was the record for the highest number of transfers between clubs during his long career. Featherstone Rovers was his 12th transfer, and the 10^th and last professional club he played for, when he had a six month stay at Post Office Road aged 40. His career began after signing from rugby union, and he made his name principally with Wakefield and Leigh, but he was a good professional who "did a job" wherever he went.
