George Anderson was a local winger who had signed for Bramley from Pontefract RUFC in April 1930.  He moved to Rovers at the start of the 1932/33 season for a trial, making his first appearance in the Lyon Cup charity game against Castleford on 20 August 1932.  Despite scoring a try on his debut against Oldham on 10 September 1932 he did not do enough to impress the club into signing him.
