Half-back George "Stiffy" Morgan was the younger brother of Joe, Luke and Tommy Morgan, all of whom had retired before George started out in 1938. They became the first set of four brothers to represent Featherstone Rovers, later emulated by the Bells. After a very promising first season where he struck up a very useful partnership with both Harold Moxon and Ray Hamer in the halves, all this potential was lost to World War Two.   Morgan saw active service in the Armed Forces throughout the war. 

After the war he did not resume his Rovers career but played in the amatuer game.  In 1948 he played in the Willow Park Rugby League team alongside future MP Geoff Lofthouse.
