Biography
Local centre George Withrington got a chance in the Featherstone first team early in the 1924/5 season and on his debut was described as having “made the most of the few opportunities he had to shine”. Despite eight games that first year, his appearances tailed off and he left for Bramley in August 1926, with forward Jack Smith coming in the opposite direction.
