Although not the biggest player, local product Jack Lee was a busy hooker who gave the side go forward with his swift distribution from acting half-back. As such, he was the ideal ‘second hooker’, a role he filled with some success in the 2009 season under coach Daryl Powell. Joe McLocklan would start games, being a stronger defender and Lee would come on to run at tiring defences. Powell decided to change things up for 2010 with the introduction of Ben Kaye with Andy Kain, and so Lee moved to York where he spent five successful seasons, then a similar spell at Hunslet.
