Joe Evans was the middle of three talented brothers who all played halfback for Featherstone Rovers. Joe, a scrum-half, made his debut in 1931 and went on to play 22 games over three seasons, most of them partnering his brother Wilf in the halves. Their younger brother Ray started at Featherstone in the early 1950s. He is not to be confused with another Joe Evans, a loose forward from Crofton who played with Rovers at exactly the same time.
