Paul Bonson came through the ranks at Featherstone, starring for the A team and receiving the occasional first team call as his career developed. He had an early call to representative rugby when he was selected to play for Great Britain Under 21s v France. He then gave the game away to concentrate on boxing where he had a notable career as a light heavyweight. He fought future World Champion Carl Froch, and became the first fighter to take Froch the distance.
