Signed from Pontefract Rugby Union in July 1922 Tom Firth played sporadically for the Rovers first team over four seasons. Perhaps uniquely he combined playing rugby with his duties as a Pontefract Town Councillor.  Tom was one of a number of players who were sold on to raise money for the club, Firth signing for Bramley. He worked for the Postal Service.
