Local man Victor Kinsey was a no-nonsense forward who played for Rovers first team in fits and starts over a four year period. He had quite a debut, grabbing two tries in his first match against Bradford. A later move to Castleford did not bring many more appearances. A generation later his son Brian and nephew Vic made the Rovers first team.
