Signed from Hunslet, Alan Sinclair slotted into the back-row of the Featherstone pack where he competed for a place with the likes of Cliff Lambert, Fred Hulme, Laurie Gant and the Ogden brothers. A promising start at number thirteen ended with an injury at Christmas that kept him out of the team for the rest of the season, including the Wembley visit. The following year he was back and clocked up over 50 matches in three seasons. The competition for a place was always keen but Sinclair proved his worth.
