As Featherstone Rovers closed in on their Grand final showdown at the end of 2021, coach James Webster brought in Alex Walker at full-back for the last nine matches of the season. The free-scoring Craig Hall moved onto the wing, and Walker offered a tidy and assured contribution from the back, chipping in with seven tries. Born in Harlow, Walker had come through the ranks at London Broncos, where he made over 100 appearances in six seasons. He failed to establish himself at Wakefield, from where he came to Rovers on loan.
