Andy Bannister was a stocky but speedy wingman from the local amateur scene who played the final few games of our successful promotion season in 1988. In a memorable playoff final against Oldham, Andy scored an outstanding try in a remarkable Rovers comeback at Old Trafford, but he failed to appear the following season and his Rovers career was over.
