Andy Bostock arrived at Featherstone from Dewsbury, having come through the ranks at Thornhill. He was a well-built forward who had, in his early days, enough pace and mobility to play in the three-quarters. Noticeable for being good on his feet, Bostock developed into a very useful prop under the tutelage of Daryl Powell with a penchant for try scoring. He was hit by a series of unconnected injuries including a broken arm and shoulder and knee problems, which eventually caused his early retirement after seven years service for Featherstone.
