Hooker Andy Kay came through the Leeds Academy system and he broke into the Featherstone Rovers first team in 2005. A series of injuries put paid to his professional career, but he went back to the community game, playing for the Armed Forces and later became involved in coaching. When Featherstone Rovers drew the Army in a 2011 Challenge Cup tie, Kay lined up for the visitors against his former club.
