In a constantly changing Rovers line up, second-row forward Arthur Bratley made his debut in October 1936. He kept his place in the team for the rest of that season, but left the club over the summer.  He was a colliery worker based in Wakefield and was the older brother of Len Bratley who made over 200 appearances for Wakefield Trinity.
