A product of Stanningley ARLFC, Ashton Golding signed for Leeds as a teenager and played 65 games at Headingley over six seasons. He first came to Featherstone for the odd game on Dual registration in 2016, but after losing his first team spot at Leeds came on a longer loan in 2019 where his whole-hearted play won him admirers. Brave on defence and hard to tackle as a runner, he was a stand-out performer in Rovers’ run to the Grand final. After that defeat he signed for Huddersfield Giants.
