Burly second-row forward Barry Hollis used his size and weight to great effect in the Featherstone Rovers pack, and allied to his ball-handling skills was a very useful squad man during five seasons. The high point of his Rovers career was when he came on as a substitute in the 1973 Challenge Cup final. He even crossed for a try but it was ruled out for a forward pass. Such was the quality of our pack at the time, it was always difficult for Hollis to command a regular first team slot, and eventually he moved to York in a straight swap for centre Steve Quinn.
