After playing for his country at the 2017 World Cup, Fijian international prop forward came over to England to play for Salford in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He then went back to Australia, before signing for Leigh in their Championship winning season of 2022. He then played for Fiji again at the 2022 World Cup, and in 2023 in Super League with Leigh. Surplus to requirements at Leigh due to the import quota, Nakubuwai joined Featherstone mid-season in 2024 on a rest-of-season loan, becoming our first Fijian international player. Used mainly as a starting middle, he settled quickly into his role of making yards in midfield, as well as having an impact off the bench in his second spell. He returned to Leigh at the end of the season.
