Widely-experienced second-row forward Bill (also known as "Benny") Pearson signed for Featherstone towards the end of a career spent primarily at Bramley.  He had guested with Leeds prior to joining Rovers and played in their victorious 1941 Challenge Cup team.  Over two seasons he added some much needed steel and stability to a Rovers pack which had been depleted by call-ups in the war.
