Bill Street’s career in the Featherstone Rovers’ three-quarter line was somewhat overshadowed by the achievements of his brothers Arthur and Harry. He made his debut alongside Arthur against Hull in 1942, but he received his call up papers in December 1942 and active service for King and country in World War Two restricted him to just six games. When the war was over, he resumed his rugby career playing occasionally in the first two post war seasons. Bill Street was certainly a player whose contribution to the club was severely curtailed by the war.
