Billy Allan came from Castleford and played for the Rovers A team apart from a solitary first team game off the bench in October 1979. He then moved to Batley where he played more first team rugby. He was well known as a doorman at various pubs and clubs in Pontefract and Castleford, but died tragically young in a traffic accident.
