After starting at Castleford, Brad Day had to move to Batley for first team rugby, where his work-rate and line-breaking running caught the attention of Featherstone Rovers who signed him up for the 2019 season. Coach Ryan Carr quickly realised Rovers had a diamond in the making, strong running and hard tackling, with a great running line onto passes from his half-backs. An abiding image of his contribution that year was a rampaging run where he had his shirt ripped off his back against Leigh. HIs debut season yielded him 12 tries from 28 starts, but a knee injury in the playoffs forced him to miss the Grand final against Toronto and the whole of the abandoned 2020 season.

As 2021 started, Brad eased his way back into first team action and was just beginning to discover top form when a ruptured Achilles tendon finished his season prematurely. It was wretched luck for a talented player and at the end of the season he moved onto Newcastle Thunder, hoping for a change in fortune. The following season he was back at Featherstone, and offered the same straight running and solid defence that Rovers fans had come to expect from him. Another serious injury, this time to his medial knee ligaments saw him miss a chunk of the season, but he came back strongly towards the end of the year. 

Thankfully, 2024 proved to be Day’s first season for a while which was uninterrupted by injury, and he enjoyed an outstanding campaign. Running intelligent angles, he was hard to handle on attack, and scored 16 tries in 29 games, scooping the Players’ Player and Coach’s Player of the Year awards. A steady 2025 season, where he formed a solid edge-defender partnership with Clay Webb on the opposite side ended with the club in administration. Day’s worthwhile contribution to the Rovers’ cause was at an end, and he joined Halifax after the start of the 2026 season.
