Auckland born Brad Hepi was just 17 years old when he came to England to play with Carlisle, and then Workington. He tried his hand in the ARL with Illawarra before moving back to England with Hull. One of a number of clubs he played for as his career wound down was Featherstone Rovers where he started the 2000 season under Peter Roe as Rovers looked to fill the gaps left by the departures of fellow Kiwis Brendon Tuuta and Hitro Okesene. After a decent start, Hepi moved on to Salford after just seven games. He later became head coach of the fledgling Gloucester All Golds, turning out for them at the age of 44. His son Tyla also played professionally at various clubs including Featherstone.
