Sprint champion Brian Kinsey was one of the quickest players in the league during his three years with Featherstone Rovers. With the incomparable Cyril Woolford installed on one wing, Kinsey competed against Frank Smith for a first team spot on the other flank. Between times he had to bide his time in the A team. His 42 games brought him 14 tries and his fair share of injuries too.

Decades after finishing playing, Brian helped out Featherstone Rovers as a member of the fire service called to the ground when the main stand burned down in 1985. Using his knowledge of the terrain, he helped rescue numerous important documents from the blaze.
