Local forward Charlie Flaherty had a curious career at Featherstone. He made his debut as a young second-rower in Rovers first season, but had to wait nearly five years for his next first team game when he was called up from the reserves in April 1926. The following season he had a short trial as first team hooker with some success, but lost his spot to Charlie Hepworth. Used sparingly after that, his final year (his eighth with Featherstone) was his best, 19 games that year was his best season.
