Erstwhile reverse team hooker Charlie King was called on to try and resolve Featherstone’s inability to win the ball from the scrums. In his debut, a noticeable improvement was remarked upon. He kept his place, but later that same season Walt Garner was switched from second-row to take King’s place at hooker. King played a couple more games at the start of the following season, but did not appear again.
