Anthony “Chico” Jackson made his name at Hull FC and came to Featherstone later in his career as pack leader and enforcer. A bulky prop but mobile, with a good offload, it was hard to imagine that his career had started as a winger. He gave direction to a youthful Rovers pack that contained Stuart Dickens, Steve Dooler and Neil Lowe at the start of their careers. Coached by Steve Sims, that side went to within a whisker of Super League in the Grand final in October 1998, and Chico Jackson’s honest endeavours in the front-row were no small part of that.
