Chris Hale was a Featherstone based half-back who had a promising junior career before signing for Rovers as a teenager in the summer of 1984. An intelligent player with an eye for a gap he played a couple of seasons for the reserves but received just one call up to the first team, such was the consistency of incumbent Deryck Fox.  He had three brothers, triplets, who all played on the local amateur scene in the 1980s.
