Clarry Iti was a rugby union flanker with Waitete and King Country province who came over to England to try his hand at rugby league. Given the different requirements of the sport, especially for a forward, this is a notoriously difficult thing to do, but eventually Clarry could call his time at Featherstone a success. He had problems retaining the ball in the tackle to begin with, looking to recycle rugby union style, but improved with experience. He stayed just less than a year before heading back to New Zealand.
