Stand off Cliff Stark had a one month trial with Featherstone Rovers in December 1965 after being transfer listed by Hull. The Rovers committee were unsure about Mick Smith in the stand off position and Cliff was the second traillist after Gywnn Davies tried in that position that season. Cliff's trial was not successful and Rovers lost all four games during his stay. Mick Smith was then reinstalled as stand off for the rest of the season.
