Colin "Bull" Anderson was Featherstone born and played for Hightown juniors where he atracted attention as a forceful centre. Rovers were hopeful he would sign but he chose Castleford instead and made his debut for them on the wing on 18 November 1950.  As his speed lessened he moved easily to the forwards and indeed in his whole career eventually he played every position bar scrum half.  Rovers were delighted when Colin eventually came home in March 1956 in an exchange deal with second row forward Roly Berry.  He made his Rovers debut v Leeds in April 1956 but over the next two years made only 15 senior appearances as his main role developed into passing on his experience to the young players in the A team.  He was described as the life and soul of the party both on and off the field and his personaility and play were infectious. Colin's younger brother Jack also played for Featherstone Rovers at full-back, as did his father Lionel.
