Half-back Colin Wood has the unenviable task of competing for a first team place with the brilliant Steve Nash in some of the best form of his fine career. However, he proved himself to be a willing and able deputy, especially in the extremely long 1973/4 season when Nash was rested for big matches towards the end of the season.
