Local product Craig Booth served his rugby league apprenticeship as a goal-kicking full-back in Featherstone Rovers' A team. He received a few first team opportunities, and was transferred to Rochdale to gain more experience. From there he moved to London, then Hunslet then York where he was club captain. Eight years after leaving Featherstone Craig came home. He was now a ball-playing prop forward who was not shy of hard work. He gave Rovers two years good service in the front-row before heading off again to Batley and Hunslet where his playing days finished. He then became involved in coaching.
