Local product Craig Fawcett came into the Rovers team with the club in unfamiliar waters having been relegated to the third tier of rugby league. He struck up a halfback partnership with Australian Josh Weedon, but fell out of favour when it was clear that Rovers were not going to be promoted. He moved to Keighley, and then Hunslet and Doncaster where he gave good service.
