Craig Hall joined Featherstone Rovers in 2020 after a long career mostly at Super League level. The son of Hull KR player Mike Smith, he spent his first four seasons at Hull FC before four seasons with KR. Spells at Wakefield, Leigh and Toronto brought him back to Hull KR from where he came to Post Office Road. Well-known as a centre or winger, Featherstone signed him as a full-back to offer leadership and experience from the back.

His first season was cut short by the Covid 19 pandemic, but he had a stellar 2021. Starting out as full-back he quickly took over the goal-kicking duties, and made his experience tell with some outstanding displays. A late try at York to continue Rovers winning run early in the season was crucial. He then picked up the Man-of-the-Match in the 1895 Cup final at Wembley, When Will Dagger, then Alex Walker were brought into play full-back, Hall was switched to the wing and started a prolific try scoring run that made him top of the try charts for the whole league that season, finishing with 28 tries from 26 games and 339 points in total. Hatricks against London and Dewsbury, four tries against York and five against Sheffield showed how much he enjoyed his time on the wing. At the end of the year he was named Championship Player of the Year. The following season was another prolific year for Hall, racking up 20 tries and 157 goals to finish with just short of 400 points for the year. This total was the third highest of all-time for a Featherstone player behind Finn 436 (2022) and Rooney 429 (2002). He played most of the season at centre, but then slotted into the full-back role following an injury to Mark Kheirallah.

2023 was Craig Hall's benefit season, and although often not in the first choice seventeen, he still proved to be a points machine when called upon. Appearing at full-back, winger, centre and a game at stand-off, he managed 10 tries and 45 goals in 14 matches to add to his formidable career tallies. He left Rovers as part of a general clearout of players following the disappointment of failing to reach the Championship Grand final, and joined Doncaster for 2024.
