Stanningley trained youngster Craig Horne came to Featherstone from Bradford where he was a contemporary of another Rovers signing for 1998, Jamie Peacock. His 21 game run which yielded just four tries came to an end when coach Steve Sims preferred Karl Pratt and Carl Hall down the flanks. Horne moved on to Keighley, a club he served for a number of seasons thereafter.
