Leeds reserve winger Dakota Whylie was thrown in at the deep end for his professional debut, as an injury-hit Featherstone Rovers travelled to Canada for the first time to play Toronto Wolfpack. Rovers scored a famous victory, the Wolfpack’s first ever home defeat, and a young Whylie refused to be overawed. He grew in confidence towards the end of the year, but an injury set him back and he lost the entire 2019 season, after which he was released.
